Thursday Morning

Well it is Thursday morning and all is well. I have a little silly story to tell. On Tuesday I went to see my friend Hess at The Golden Hour Clock shop. I went to see him because he called and told me that My wife's clock was ready and that I should stop and have coffee with him which we often do. Tuesday afternoon after doing a lot of little things that I had to do I decided to go to the clock shop and have coffee and pick up the clock. Got to the clock shop had coffee, sat and chatted with Hess about a lot of everything but not much of anything if you get my drift. The usual, kids, cars, friends, clocks, money (how little we make and how much we spend) and how fast it goes, wives,( how sweet they are and how Lucky we are to have them )operations we had and what we will have and then a customer came in and I decided that I had taken up enough of Hess's time so home I went. When I got home I read the little note I had written when he called me that said (Pick up Clock) Guess what is still sitting in his shop? I guess you would call that a Senior Moment eh? Well maybe I'll stop in and get the clock sometime today. Got to go to St Albert and try to finish Henk's floor.

Saturday evening

Well I talked to my sister Betty on the phone tonight. My brother e-mailed me her phone number at the hospital in Florida. She sounded real good and says she is feeling really good. She says that the strokes she had were mini strokes and she has no problem talking ,walking or with her arm. everything seems to be okay now. Thanks you everyone for your prayers. She says she might be able to go home tomorrow. I'll keep you all updated . Have a great day. Love you all.

Thursday Evening.

Well I have been real busy putting a floor(laminated flooring) down for my friend Henk. It sure looks nice if I must say so myself. I started on Monday but being retired I don't do the 8 to 5 thing. I think I worked 6 hours Monday, 5 hours Tuesday, 5 hours Wed, and 7 hours today so we finished the living room and hall way and 2 closets. I don't know how many boxes of floor we put down but my knees tells me it must have been about 20. His floor is different it is only 5 inches wide and 54 inches long. Well at least he can put his furniture back in place now.
Then I came home grabbed a bite to eat and took Wendy to work then went to Safeway and picked up my meds. then off we went to Parkland kennels and dropped Madison off. She really didn't want to get out of the car when we got there but with her head down and walked very slowly we went in. Barked as I was leaving, like to say don't forget to come back and get me.
Today when I got home from Henks I had to call my brother Merlin in Reno and he informed me that my sister in Tampa Florida had a stroke today and was in hospital there. Her daughter Renee called him and told him that this morning they were sitting at the table and Sis said that she wasn't feeling just right. She said she felt real dizzy. Then she went to get up and fell on the floor. Renee quickly called 911 and with in a few minutes they were there and took her to the hospital. He said she was in stable condition and in intense care. He is going to call me tomorrow in Lethbridge and give me an update. If you find time please pray for her . Her name is Betty and she is 8 years younger that I am. Well that all for today.Guess I 'll try to get a good night sleep.

Sunday Evening

Hi everyone. It's me again. Well today was a busy day but a fun day. Went to church and listen to Pastor Keith. Real good sermon as usual and I had a treat sitting with my beautiful wife for a change. Usually she is working at the Comp center or working in the book store so I have to sit along. Well I usually find (someone) to sit with. Last week it was Kristy as she was up and stayed over night the night before. After service there was an older lady and I'm never can remember her name but she has been at Beulah forever and she said (Oh Hi Floyd was that another one of your daughters sitting with you today.) LOL When I told her it was my wife she said (Wendy??) and then she got all red and said that she was sitting in the back and her eye sight wasn't so good any more. I told her Wendy is looking younger every day and then off she went. Then I had to count as I was Head teller today. We have an awesome crew on the first Sunday of the Month and I really enjoy working with them. It is Lisa, Brenda, Darryl, John and Vern. What a fun and Godly bunch. You got to love them and real good at what they are doing.
Well then I came home about 2:00pm. and Wendy had made lunch. After that I sat out in the beautiful sun for a little while but it was kind of hot so then I watched a bit of TV or should I say listened to the TV with my eyes closed. I'm trying to save my eyes for when I get old. Ha ha. I did watch a bit of (So You think you can dance) or something like that. Then Kristy and Cassie came over for a little while and after they left I went to Safeway and bought some meat for supper. I cooked some shish'kabobs using Tomatoes,Cauliflower, Broccoli, Mushrooms, Red and Green peppers, Onions and Small potatoes and Beef. Sure was good. Oh we talked to Mandy and Jorge for a while this afternoon too. Sure do miss that pair.
Well I should do a bit of practicing the Harmonica and then I should go out and water our plants and flowers in our back yard. Tomorrow will be another busy day. It will be Breakfast with the Seniors and then off to St Albert and help my friend Henk put down some Laminate floor in his living room hall and stairs. Guess that will take a few days. Maybe tomorrow evening I will still have enough energy to scrap some stain off my deck and stain it again as it needs it really bad. I have some flower boxes to do too. Oh well there is always another day eh? Wish you were here Jorge. It's not so much fun working by myself and going to breakfast by myself at A&W.(sigh)
Well that's my story and I sticking to it. God Bless all you guys that read this silly Blog.
Love you all.

FridayJune1,2007

Well today was a beautiful day and I might add a bit warm. This morning at 9 my friend Art came over and off we went the 2 (old retired guys) to work. I had a what I thought was a small job putting the eve troughs that I picked up the other day on a garage. Art called yesterday and said I shouldn't be climbing around on ladders all by myself so over he came. What a guy. I guess it makes sense that it is better to have 2 old guys on ladders instead of 1 eh? Ha ha. I was glad that he came to help It would have taken me all day by myself. It took the 2 of us 6 hours. 26 foot eve trough is a bit hard to handle by yourself. I put up one piece 26foot 8 inch on my house yesterday by myself and it is a bit of a challenge. What I had to do was put a screw in about 6foot from one end and put a string on the trough and tie it off short then go to the other end and lift it up close to where I wanted it and put a screw in that end. Then go back to the other end and take the string off and put a screw in to hold that, then it was a breeze from there on. I think I only had to go up and down the ladder about 25 times. I guess I am just thank full that I can still climb ladders at my age.
Our back yard is just beautiful right now with all the flowers and the Lilacs are all out now and smell so nice.
Wendy is off to meet her sister and then she has to go to work at 10pm. until 2am. Guess they are short staff in the office.
Well after a day on the ladders I thought that I would just come down and relax and play a bit music. I enjoy playing. I'm not sure if Madison is enjoying it or just putting up with it ???
Oh well I hope she likes it. Who knows eh?
Well it is getting late and I should get my beauty sleep right. Lord knows I need it.
I pray you will all have a blessed evening.

It's a long story. Tuesday afternoon

Well it Tuesday afternoon and I have been running around picking up eve trough for my house over the deck and another job I have to do for a friend of ours. With a little Ford Ranger which is not too long as you can see it is a bit of a challenge to load and tie down 26ft.8 in. eve trough on to it and drive across town to the west end. With that long eve trough it sure makes my truck look little eh? We made it, now I just have to deliver the other 2 pieces to the other job. Wendy is still sleeping so I am trying to be a bit quiet around the house and not wake her up as she has to work again tonight at 6:30pm. Then she is (supposed to be) off for the next 4 days. We'll have to wait and see how that turns out. I had breakfast at Happ's with my friend Art and we had a good chat. We solved half the problems of the world but guess the other half will have to wait a day or so eh? Then went and looked at a small deck job and still have to go look at one more. I guess you could say I am a Retired workee. Ha ha. Well got go. I pray that you all will have a great day. God Bless you all.

Our God is so GOOD. Monday May28th.

Here it is Monday morning and God has given us another beautiful day. I'm excited to see what he has planned for me today. I have had a great weekend. Wendy went on a ladies retreat so I went to the lake. Me and Madison. She just loves the lake. I got there about 7:30 Friday evening. It was the first time out there this year. I opened the trailer and swept all the spiders off the front door and windows along with all the dead mosquito's and then wiped down the whole trailer, walls and cabinets. Started the fridge and brought in all the things that I had in the back of the truck. Bedding, food, water, cleaning supplies, toilet paper and all that stuff that we think we need out there. Then I realized that I didn't bring my radio so it was kind of quiet out here. I was the only one here. Well about 10:30 I finished raking around the trailer and decided to go in and sit down for a few minutes. Made the bed up and thought that I would just lay down and read my Bible a bit. And that's exactly what happened because I probably only read for about 5 minutes before falling asleep. I woke up about 12:30, put my Bible on the shelf and got into bed. It was quite cool so I lit the furnace and off I went until about 7:30 Sat. Morning when Madison woke me up to go out. Then I decided to go into Alberta Beach and have breakfast as it was real quiet and Madison don't say much. Had breakfast and bought a few things at the store and came back to the trailer. As we drove in a big skunk was walking down the drive and just went under the deck right behind my trailer. Fortunately Madison was running along side of my truck and never saw the skunk. I quickly stop the truck and made her get into the truck and then parked it and left her in there. That was a close one. I then put her in the trailer for a few minutes until I made sure that stupid old skunk was gone. She was not impressed but I didn't have any tomato juice and I didn't want her to get after that skunk again. That happen twice in the last 2 years. Well anyway then I got the boat out and off we went fishing. I got 2 Walleyes and 2 jack. Just when I got the last Jack my cell phone rang and so I scrambled to get that and keep the fish on the line at the same time. It was my son in-law Bob and he asked if I wanted some company. He and his dad (Art)and Hudson his dog came out and they stayed until about 8pm. Art and I went into Alberta Beach and bought some smokies and we built a fire in my fireplace and we cut some sticks and cooked the smokies over the open fire. Madison and Hudson had a ball chasing each other around. Then Bob and Art left for home and I just sat and watched the fire. About 10pm. I decided to go in and about 2 minutes later I had a knock on my door asking if I was lonesome. It was Gill our neighbor and he had just came up to the lake by himself. So we put a few more logs on the fire and chatted for about an hour. Sunday morning it was a bit cloudy and the wind was starting to come up. Mattie and I went fishing and only stayed about an hour as it was getting pretty choppy out there. Never even got a bite. Then Benny and Ann came out and they opened up their trailer and we had coffee. Ann makes good coffee. I helped Benny rake around our friends trailer (Gordon) so he won't have to do it when he comes out.
Well I got home about 3pm. Sunday afternoon. Wendy got home about 4 minutes after I did. I showered and headed off to Harry Waranka for his retirement party. Wendy decided not to go as she had to get up at 4:3o am for work and thought she would rest up for tomorrow. Anyway off I went and the party was great and I had lots of fun and met lots of people I hadn't seen in a while. I got home and Wendy had already gone to bed so I crawled into bed and almost went to sleep when the door bell rang and we both sprang out of bed wondering who that could be. It was 2 young Police officers asking about if it was me that called them and something about some guy that was taken to the hospital. I was totally in the dark about this and said no it wasn't us that called but he assured me that the phone call came from my house. Then Wendy came out and said oh yes it was her that called and the young guy was beaten up and sprayed with some kind of spray and taken to the hospital. Ok shut my mouth and listened. Next time I'm out when I get back I think I will wake her and ask her if there is any thing I should know. Wow What a surprise. The 2 police officers must have thought that I was stupid or on something eh?
Well today was another day of just being busy. I went to breakfast at A&W with the seniors and then came home and Wendy had come home from work sick. So I loaded my truck with some tools and decided to go help Bob's Dad, Art put some OSB board down for a floor on his new shed that he is building. First I drove to the north side and ordered 2 orders of eves trough for a couple of jobs for tomorrow and the next day. Art is building his shed from material that he gets going to see some of the housing contractors and cleaning up around the houses for them. So we had to do lots of cutting.
I got home about 4:30 and had some supper and then here I am finishing my blog.

FridayAfternoon

Hi well we went to The Cross Cancer Thursday morning and met with Dr Peterson. He said that he didn't have any bad news for us so that was good. He said that The bone scan and the CAT scan show that it has NOT spread and it looks stable and that my PSA test showed that it had gone down from 12.4 to 9.8 so that's a good sign I hope. Then he went on to explain the 3 options again. I guess we have opted to do the surgery and he doesn't do that so he suggested that we call our doctor and get connected to a surgeon. (Back to square one eh). When we got home we called Dr. Brownoff and asked him to try to get an appointment with Dr Estay. So we will wait again andhope it is soon. Wow this afternoon I got a call saying that I have an appointment with Dr. Estay for June 21. Wendy thinks we should call and try to make it sooner. Well I think I'll got to the lake a little latter on. Wendy is going to a ladies retreat. She is excited about that.

Sunday afternoon.

Well here it is Sunday already. We have had a busy week and now just waiting for Thursday to talk to the Doctor about the test results. My daughter Kristy has been here for a week. It was good to have her home but missed Bob. Kristy came up Last Sunday evening and had Laser surgery done on her eyes on Monday. She had to go back on Tuesday morning for a follow up exam and now she has 20/20 vision and doesn't need to ware glasses anymore. Thank you Lord. I went to the Cross Cancer on Friday and they did a bone scan and a CAT scan and another PSA test. Today Wendy was off to work at 5:00 am and Kristy and I went to church and when we got back Art and Luba were waiting for her to take her home to Blackfalds. I thought of a million things that needed doing but just didn't have the energy to do any of them. I just laid around out side for a while and then watched the stupid hockey game and now here I am at this dumb old computer. I think all my get up and go just got up and went somewhere. I can't believe how loggy I feel lately. Oh well guess I'll practice playing some of my music but for some reason I really don't feel like doing that either. Well Wendy will be home in and hour or so. Maybe I should just go make some supper for her. Have a great day .
Love you all.

Tuesday evening .

Well it is about 9:20 pm. and I am tired. Today I got out all the pumps for our fountain's and worked on them and cleaned them all up and put a few new gaskets in some and matched up all the connecting hoses. Then I wrapped all the electrical connections with plastic to make them water proof. Then I had to go to Tim Horton and meet an old friend for coffee. We chatted for a while and then I went to Wall Mart and then to Canadian Tire. I had to buy another 50 ft. hose and I bought another potted flower for our lawn. Then I came home and started getting the fountain's up and running. We have 5 of them. One on our deck and 4 on the lawn. They take a lot of care but the birds just love and Madison now has a full supply of running water. She drinks out of all of them. Silly dog. They are really nice when they are up and running. Wendy was off today and took Kristy to get her eyes done. Laser surgery . I put some dirt in our flower bed near the house. My lawn needs mowing again but I'll do that tomorrow. I'm too tired to do it today.Well I think it is time I went to bed. Bye for now. Oh I added some pictures to my Photo's if your interested.

Late Sunday evening

Well I guess i should update this silly old blog. Not sure if anyone is reading it much but guess some are . Well where do I start? It has been a busy week for sure. Wednesday and Thursday I was at The Cross Cancer Hospital. Wednesday it was just a registration and information about the Hospital. I received my Red Cancer Card that I have to show every time I go there. They talked to us about the Hospital and what they do there and what to expect when we are there. They were very friendly and informative. They even gave us all a tour of the Hospital. There were about 20 of us there.
Thursday was a busy day for Wendy and I. First thing in the morning I got up and took Madison to the dog kennels in Stony Plain and then came back home and we loaded the car because we were going to Lethbridge right after we finished at the Hospital. We were going down to see Adriana and Erylin dance at 6:30pm that evening. We got to the hospital about 9:30am. and waited for about a half hour and then a nurse came and talked to us for another half hour. Then we met Dr Peterson who told us that the last PSA test was up again and he was a bit concerned. Then he examined me and said that he felt that the cancer has gone to both sides of the Prostate gland. Now I have to go back on May 18th. and they are going to do a Bone scan at 8 am. and then at 10:30 I think it is they are going to do another PSA test and then at 3 or 3:30 they are going to do a cat scan. Guess they don't do dog scans eh? Then on May 24th I have to go back and get the test results and hopefully find out what type of treatment they are going to do.
I felt bad for Wendy because I know she wasn't comfortable going back to the Cross because she used to take her Mom there when she had cancer. I am so glad she went with me. She is such a sweetie and I sure do Love her.
Well anyway after we got out of the hospital at about noon we headed for Lethbridge. If you read Wendy's blog she will tell you about the trip down. We made it on time (good thing she slept a little while) or we probably would have been a bit late.

Yesterday was another busy day. I ran to the kennels first thing and got Madison and brought her back home and then change into my Dutch costume and headed to St Albert and picked up my friend Hank and off we went to the Dutch Club where we played with The Harmonika Rascals from 11 am until 4 pm. We took a couple of breaks and walked around and got something to eat and checked out the market. There were lots of people at the market and I think it was very good. We had lots of people listening to us all day long and got a few request but basically played Dutch music. We finished at 4 and then had to tear down all the equipment and put it away and then load the truck with the things we take home and I think I got home about 6 pm. All in all it was a good day and it kept my mine busy. However lots of people came up to me and told me that they were praying for me and many gave me a bit of encouragement. I didn't realize how many people knew about my cancer. I guess word travels fast eh?
Today it was church and Wendy and I both had to work. I had to count and Wendy worked in the Book store. After church I cooked lunch. I made a salad and boiled some potatoes and BBQ ed some chicken. It was good. Then Wendy and I sat on the couch for a bit before she had to go to work. Wendy left for work at 5:45pm.and she'll be back home at 7 tomorrow morning.
Well tomorrow I have a busy day again. I will have breakfast with the seniors and then not sure if I am going to bowl or not but we'll see, then I have to go to St Albert and look at a deck for a lady. Well thats my story and I'm sticking to it .

Friday Morning and I can't sleep

Well here it is 2:41am. and I am wide awake. This is unusual for me. Normally I am asleep as soon as I hit the pillow. Wendy and I went out for coffee with our best friends (Ed and Betty). We went to Moxie's and had desert and coffee. I don't think it agreed with me but I don't feel bad anymore just can't sleep.I was afraid I would wake Wendy so thought that I would get up and listen to some music on my Sony MP3 Walkman.Listing to some Dutch songs that we will be playing on May 12 at The Dutch Club for their market. The Rascals will be playing from about 10 am. until about 3 or 4 when ever it is finished. We usually play for about 1/2 to 3/4 of an hour and then take a 1/2 hour break. It is a lot of fun and we will all be dressed like you see in the picture. I think I have shown you this picture before?
Wendy has been off for the last 5 days and it has been fun having her home. She spent lots of time doing her scrap booking but she seems to enjoy it and she does such a great job with it.I'm sure when the kids come home that will be the first thing they will grab. Sure do love her. I love hearing her laugh and talk to the kids on the phone. She is such a sweetie. She will be getting up about 4:30am. and getting ready for work.
Today is going to be a busy one so hopefully I'll be able to get some sleep. I have to bowl at noon and then about 4:00pm. I'll head to Blackfalds and pick up one of my other sweeties (Kristy). She is coming up for the weekend. I think they have a shower or something and then Mum is going to take her back Monday morning and go to the dentist with her in Blackfalds or Red Deer somewhere. Well I should try to get some sleep so bye for now.

Saturday One of those days

Well today has been a downer I guess you could call it. I haven't felt good all day and for the first time in about 15 years I have had a headache all day long. Just took some aspern and it is seems to be going away. I got up and did a bit of raking on the lawn then cut a few of the hollyhocks stems. Then took my BBQ apart because the heat shield is almost burned Thur. Then I laid in the sun for about an hour. Just couldn't settle into to anything. I guess it was just one of those days. I went to Home Depot and a lady backed up and hit my bumper. Then I drove to Future shop and another lady almost knocked me down with her car door then told me I should be more careful. I held my tounge. I was already half way out when she swung her door open and hit me. Oh well. Then I went to 4 other places looking for some parts for my BBQ and couldn't find them. Then the traffic was so bad it took me over and hour to get home. I guess some days are like that eh?
Hope and pray you all had a better day.

Thursday Afternoon

Yesterday Was a busy day I went to meet Hunter for breakfast and then bowled with the guys. Came home and Wendy made us lunch and I went out and raked (just a little bit) then took a little nap in the sun. Sure was nice sitting in the sun for a change. Then I went in my shop and worked on some piano benches. We had our men's group last night.
Today I got up had breakfast and went beck to the shop and almost finished the benches. When I came out for lunch it was so nice out I went outside on the deck and laid in the sun for an hour. I just have a little more sanding and then packaging the 4 benches and then I can deliver them tomorrow. Well won't finish setting here so hope you all have a great day.
GOD bless you all

Tuesday April 24,2007

Well I had a busy day so far and it looks like I'll be busy a while longer. I went to the Hospital first thing and got a blood test done for The Cross Cancer Hospital. Then I came home and fried a couple of eggs and then changed. We have to ware black pants and white shirt when we are serving the Seniors Lunch. We had about 140 people there I guess. I didn't count but there were about 16 table and about 9 people at each one. I worked until 2 pm. and then rushed home to meet Art Barns (Bobs Dad). He wants me to help him build his shed in the back of his house. Art is a real nice guy and it should be fun working with him again. He helped me when I was putting in windows into my house last year. Now I am going to quit doing this blog and go into my shop and try to finish the benches for Don's Piano Warehouse. Tomorrow I have to call a lady that has a cupboard to put up and a book stand and a shelf. Staying busy helps me keep my mind off this thing that I am going through. Wendy will be home about 7 and I want to be able to sit down with her and spend some time. She is such a sweetheart and I sure do LOVE her. I thank the LORD for her everyday. OK I had better get those benches done. So I'm out of here. Buy for today.

Monday morning

Well here it is 5 am. and I am wide awake. Been awake since 4 am. so thought that I would come check out the old computer eh? I didn't do much yesterday. Went to church at nine. I had to pick up Mrs. Mulbier because Ron was working at Safeway. Our Men's group have been taking the Mulbiers to church for the last couple of years now. Tim, Ron and I take turns. Mr Mulbier doesn't drive anymore and I don't think Mrs. Mulbier ever drove. They are both in their 80's. A real sweet couple. I had to count after service so I quickly took Mrs Mulbier home and came back to the church and filled in as head teller. Normally I do that at the first of each month but Laurent was away at a retreat so I filled in for him. Wendy was working at the book store so we were both at the church all morning. We got home about 1:30. Wendy made lunch and then I went out side and took a few pictures and played with the dog for a few minutes. It sure felt like spring. Watched a bit of Boxing on the TV and watched my man Manfrado get beat. (Sigh). Then Wendy and I watched the last 2 CSI's of season 3. Now I guess we have to wait for until they bring out season 4. I made supper and Wendy made a nice Apple desert(Too good). Then about 10:30 we packed it in. Sundays are usually pretty quiet around here. A lot of time Wendy is working on Sundays so I just lay around by my self. Sunday's are nice to just lay around and take it easy. Now today is a different story. I usually for to breakfast with the Seniors from 8 to 10 at A&W and then it's off to the bowling alley at 11 and we usually finish about 1:00 or 1:30. Most of the guys are 60 to 85 years old and they are a real fun group. Always joking around and just love bowling. These guys are really good bowlers. Then after bowling I have to come home and try to finish some Piano Benches I have on my bench for Don's Piano Warehouse. Then I have practice tonight with The Harmonika Rascals from 7 to 10:00pm. Well that's my story and I'm sticking to it . Have a great day and God Bless you all.

End of the week

Well here it is Friday (The end of the week) already. boy how time flies. Well this morning I was up at 7:10 am. When I came out of the bed room there was Wendy on her laptop. I didn't even hear her come in from work. So she headed off to bed and I headed off to Happs for breakfast and to see a friend. Actually I saw 2 friends while I was there. I had breakfast with Hunter and then my friend Art came in so I sat and talked a bit with him. Then I headed out to the south side of town where I used to work (Superior Lumber). Got there and saw all the guys and gals and chatted for a while. Then went into Rob's office and chatted with him for a while. I was telling him about our Chile trip and he was saying how he remembered when Mandy was born and we brought her over and showed her off to all the guys at Superior. He was asking about all my girl and their families. He has 3 boys. Then I spilt coffee on my shirt and we had a good laugh over that. I had a styrofoam cup with a hole in the bottom. Then he said (oh) here take off that shirt and put this one on it doesn't have coffee on it yet but give us a few minutes and one of us will spill again soon probably. Then he gave me a SUPERIOR tee shirt and another shirt which he got from Can-Wel a wholesale company. After I bought a saw blade and a box of flat washer I dropped in at Taiga Forest Products just to say (Hi) and they gave me a new Taiga Jacket. Now if I could just find a company that is giving away pants I would have a whole outfit eh? Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha. While I was there Tom asked if I was interested in changing all the doors in his house for him . Seems like I could be real busy for a while if I want to. I am building 4 piano benches for Don's Piano Warehouse now, that's what I needed the saw blade and the flat washers for. Yesterday Gwen, a lady from our church asked if I would put some eves trough up for her on her new garage and another lady want me to fix some cabinets for her so I guess I will be busy for a while eh? Hank just called and I am meeting him for breakfast tomorrow morning at 8:30am. Well guess I should go finish those Piano benches. Hey did you guys see the NEW Photo challenge that Wendy put on the Blog this morning?? Looking forward to seeing some good pictures eh?? Sounds like fun (Spring things). Well hope and pray that you all have a great day.
Keep smiling and keep you eyes on God. God Bless you all.

Thursday Good News and Bad News

Well it's been a while since I updated this old Bolg so here goes. The Good News is I got a call today from my doctor's office saying that I have not 1 but 2 appointments with The Cross Cancer Hospital. May 9th. ( at 9:45am. for new patients information and then on May 10th. at 10 am. for consultation about radiation (the pro's and con's). So the good new is I do have dates but the bad news is it is not until May. Thats another 3 weeks. This waiting is killing me but maybe now I can get some sleep and they don't seem too worried about it so why am I? I guess the word cancer scares me eh?
Well last week Friday, Wendy and I went to Lethbridge and we stayed until Tuesday. We left about 2 in the afternoon. We had a real good time with the kids and Tanya and Tom. The kids have grown up so much. they sure are a cute bunch. We even got to play a new game with Tom. Tanya and the kids.
Today I had lunch with Pastor Keith. He is such a neat guy. We talked a little about everything but not much of anything. Mostly kids, family, who people see us as Christians and the price of houses these days.
Wednesday evening we had our Men's group here again. They sure are an encouraging bunch. I just love each one of them.
Well Wendy is working tonight so guess I'll just practice my harmonica for a little while and then get to bed and see if I can sleep tonight. Have a great day.

Wed. Evening

We today started out like most Wednesdays. I bowled at 9am. Didn't do as well as I would have liked but not to bad. 175, 213 and 168=556 for total. Today was our final league game. We came out in first place which was good.I really enjoy bowling with Mat and Art. They are really nice guys and fun to bowl with. Then after bowling we all went to Smileys for lunch and the gave our the final awards and money for the standings. We did pretty well. After that I went home and watched a bit of TV with Wendy and then I had a doctors appointment at 3pm. Tomorrow they are calling Cross Cancer Clinic and see if they have a assigned a surgeon and maybe find out just when. This waiting is driving me nuts. Then this evening we had a Mens Group here at 7pm. I always enjoy the guys and love listening to their stories and find out how God has been working in their lives. They are an Awesome bunch. Wendy is working until 6:30 am tomorrow and will be home about 7am. I'll be out of the house most of the morning as I have to go buy some wood for some piano benches. I have and order for 4 so guess I should get started. That will keep me busy for a day or 2.

Tuesday Morning and all is snow

Hi guys well guess what I was hoping was that the Lord would send this to Chloe but he sent it to us again. Ha ha.
Well it is pretty, white, wet, cold and about 1- 1/2 inches thick so far but is still coming down. Wendy is at work and I'm not sure I want to go out this morning. Got some things I should do in my shop but got to turn the heat on first I guess. Been looking on The Photo Challenge and I see that Wendy was busy last night while I was out practicing with The Harmonika Rascals. I hate it when she beats me at the Challenge eh? but I have to addmit she sure took some good pictures. Oh well I'll see if I can find some different textures to photograph. Guess I'll have to get out my LITTLE Cannon Sure shot and go to work. Hope it don't cut into my shop time eh? I just knocked a box of Kleenex off my computer desk and it knocked my Batmobile phone down (sigh) a soft surface to a hard one. Ha ha. Might make a good picture, what do you think??
Well here is a picture of my back deck and our pretty white, wet snow.
Have a great day and when you think about it Pray for all our bloggers. God is good , God is Great.
God Bless you all
Dad

Monday Morning

Monday morning and almost all of our snow is gone. It is good to see that it has melted away over the weekend. I was reading Chloe's blog and she was so excited because it was snowing in Texas. We get excited when it don't snow. We left Edmonton on Friday morning and went to Kristy and Bob's for the weekend. We had lots of good laughs, watched a few CSI and a couple of Disney movies. We ate a lot. We had roast beef on Friday, Ham on Sat. and Turkey on Sunday. Shouldn't need any thing to eat for the next few days. Ha ha. We had fun and it was good to hear all their plans for the future. They sure are excited about going to Africa. It will be hard for us not seeing them for 6 months eh? Oh well we'll party when they get back right? Hopefully they will be able to e-mail us often and if they have a web cam we will be able to see them right? I know when Mandy was in Chile last year we used the web cam a lot. Well my sweetheart is sick today so I think I'll go see how she is. Maybe we ate too much over the week end. Well not sure what to do today but I have and order for a couple of Piano Bench so that will keep me busy for a day or so and today is bowling day so guess I'll be able to keep busy eh? It don't take much to keep me busy.
Well had a pretty good day at the bowling alleys. bowled 6 games. 200,183,204 179,191 and 211. not bad for an old fellow eh? We usually bowl 4 games but I guess all the guys felt good today so we bowled a couple more games. Sure hope I do that in the league on Wed. Morning. Wed. is our last day of league bowling for the year. Our team, Art, Mat and I are in first place out of 22 teams. My average is 182, Arts is 180 and Mats is 185.

Thursday Morning

Guess what? It is snowing outside again. Guess I have to realize that I live in Edmonton Alberta. Oh well it will get nice some day right? Wendy is sleeping and here I am at this stupid old computer blogging. There is a million other things I should be doing but thats another story. I have an appointment with Pastor Art at 1:35pm. today. I need something new for our men's group we finished The Wild at Heart Epic. That was good and the guys really liked it. We have 9 guys in our men's group and we meet every Wed. at my house at 7pm. Any of you guys interested in joining us for the evening (ya All come on). The Lord started this group in 1992 right after I came home from a Promise Keepers meeting. Remember I was the guy who was never going to lead a group. So I thought but the LORD had other plans. We have had many guys come and go and many have their own men's group going now.
Pray that the roads will stay nice. This afternoon we are going to go to Blackfalds and stay there and come home Sunday evening. I might even cook a Turkey on Sat. or Sunday. Who knows eh? Sounds like fun and probably cheaper then eating out right? I love visiting my kids. My niece Cassie is coming with us. Then next week we are going to Lethbridge for 4 days to see Tanya, Tom and the little ones(Sorry Adriana) but you'll always be my Little one right? She is getting so big. A beautiful little lady. Well I should get going and do something. I still got the million things to do right? I Pray you will all have a great day.

Wed. evening

Hi everybody. We today has been a busy but unsettled day for me. Seems that no mater what I do I a bit unsettled. Who know why??? Well this morning I bowled with the Senior league and did not to bad. I61, 209 and 202. Not bad for and old goat eh? Then after bowling I went to lunch with Henk and Mat. Henk and Mat used to work together but haven't seen one and other for about 12 or 15 years. After lunch I took Henk home to St Albert and then came home and tried to do some work in the shop but that didn't work so I went shopping at Safe way as we needed a few things like Ice cream and things like that eh? You know things we needed. Oh well guess there is no fooling you guys. Any way then it was home and getting ready for our men's group to night. I baked a cake last night for them so now you see why I needed the Ice Cream. Good plan eh? Hope you all have a great day. And you blogger keep on blogging.

Monday Morning

Wow! It is snowing outside and thats not good but guess I have some good news anyway. My daughter Kristy just sent me an e-mail saying that YWAM has received some of their forms and they will soon get a firm answer from them. It sure is exciting to hear about Kristy and Bob applying to go to Africa on a YWAM DTS for 6 months. That is nice but that is a long ways away. But if God sends them there who am I to question. I sure will miss them. Then I will have one daughter in Chile and another in Africa. (Don't even think about it Tanya) Your far enough away as it is. I miss you every day. I really enjoyed the time we had together last week. We'll be down there next week and spend 3 or 4 days. It is awesome how God works in our lives. I really miss Mandy and Jorge. Oh and my niece Cassy is applying to go with YWAM to Chile in September too. So what am I doing sitting here, maybe I should be applying for something.(Sigh) The last mission trip for me was 2005 to Poland. I find that when I go on mission trips or just anywhere for more than 2 days I miss my sweetheart (Wendy). Last year I went to Flordia to see my sister for 2 weeks and that is too long to be away from her. I hadn't seen my sister for 7 or 8 years so it was good to see her.
My family will soon be spread all around the world. I will then need this old computer to keep in touch with them eh?
Well it's off to the bowling alley to bowl with some of my old Senior buddies. Well have a great day and remember God is Good. God Bless you all.

Sunday Afternoon

Sunday afternoon and all is well. I am just waiting for my sweetheart to come home from work. Sure did miss her today.
Well lets see this morning got up and got ready for church as usual and at 9am. I left for church. Had a coffee with some friends at the church and at 9:30 went to service. After service I had to count. W have an awesome team on the first Sunday of the month. We finished about 1:30pm.
Came home got some lunch and went down stairs and practiced playing for about 2 hours. then got on this old computer and did a bit of Blog searching. Seems not everyone up dates on the weekend. Including me. (Sigh). Did a bit of looking at some of our pictures of our grand kids. They sure are cute. I have this beautiful picture of one of my Grand daughters( the oldest one) on my computer as a screen saver. Maybe I'll share it with you all. Well didn't do much today so can't blog much eh? Hope and pray that you all have a great day.

Friday March 30, 2007

Today Wendy made breakfast and then it was off to do some shopping. I really like it when she is home with me. We started at Wall mart just to get a few things. Daaaaaaaa. They had can good on sale for .67 cents so guess we got a bit carried away. Peaches and Cream Corn, Cut Green Beans, Peas and Cream style Corn. Then after we got what was on our list we headed to Pak Mail and mailed some stuff to Mandy and Jorge. It is really nice and warm out today but a bit cloudy. We are going to some friends of our for lunch ( Irene and Vern). They want to see all the pictures we took when we were in Chile.
I have a few projects to finish in my shop and then a couple of small jobs that people want done so guess I 'll be buys for a few days. I guess that will make the time go fast but wait I don't want it to go so fast . Oh well I guess it is all in how you look at it eh? I enjoy working with wood so if it's fun why not.I called the Dr. office yesterday but the lady said it may take a couple of weeks to set everything up with the surgeon. I know Wendy is a bit impatiant but what can you do Well just talked to Mandy on MSN so better get ready and go to lunch. Should practice my Haarmonica when we get back. We just did the Tulip Festable at The Mutart on Sunday. We got a good picture of the boys. For those who don't know I'm the second one on the left. With the real pretty shoes. Ha ha

Monday March 26, 2007 Good News, Bad News.

Hi everyone. Guess it's about time I updated this old Blog eh? Well as you all know Wendy and I went to Chile for 3 weeks and had a wonderful time. Watched our youngest daughter get married again for the Second time to the same man. They were married on Nov. 4th. 2006 at Beulah Alliance church and then in Chile for Jorge family on March 10th. 2007. We met all of Jorge family and friends. They are a lovely family and we enjoyed getting to know the all.
Well before we left I went to the Hospital and they did a biopsy of my prostate. The doctor was going to call us and give us the results before we left but he didn't. Smart doctor because the news wasn't good and it probably would have ruined our trip. When we got home there was a few messages on the phone to call him as soon as we could. The bad news is that I have Prostate Cancer. The good news is that we caught it at an early stage and the doctor says there is a very good chance of cure. Being uneducated on the whole thing we felt so inadequate and confused on which of the 3 options the doctor gave us. (2 types of radiation or surgery). There are some brutal side effects for all 3. We made an appointment with our GP and he walked us through the whole thing and looked at all the pro's and con's of the 3. Because I have IBS and take medicine for that our GP recommended surgery. So that's the way we are going to go. I would just ask you all for your prayers as we go through this thing in the next few weeks. I realize that it is all in Gods hands. If God has more for me to do here on earth he won't let anything happen to me and I trust Him with all my heart. God has been so good to our family and I know he will continue. I feel great and don't have any of the symptom's. So that the NEWS in a nut shell. (A large nut shell eh?) Just pray that God will give my 3 daughters, 3 son in-laws, grandchildren and my beautiful wife Wendy peace of mind as we go through this.
So what is this weeks challenge Tanya. We are all waiting. Is it the letter F, cause I have a lot of FUNKEY things around the house. Ha ha
Oh! I almost forgot. We had a wonderful weekend with Tanya,Tom,all the grandkids and Kristy and Bob. It was a house full but I loved it. I have the greatest family and I love them all.
Today I bowled and did really good for and old fellow. ( 204,201 and 172 ) not bad eh?

Friday Morning

I woke up to the sound of little feet this morning. Haven't heard that in a little while. We have Tanya and Tom and the 4 little ones here. They sure do brighten up a home. My floors are covered with toys and the kids are having a ball. It is good to see all the toys being used and even the toys look happier. We have a closet 10ft. wide and 8ft. high filled with old toys the girls had. They got here Wed. evening about 9:30pm. Yesterday we all went to the Mall to Fantacy Land and the kids had lots of fun and rides. Then we came home had supper and after the kids went to bed Tanya,Tom, Wendy and I watched a movie. It was fun. I love it when the house is full of people and kids. Kristy and Bob are coming up tonight for the week end. Ya-hoooo. Got a busy day ahead of us so I should get going. I have a doctors appointment at 11 and then I'm sure the kids will have lots of things to do.Will try to keep you up to date with all the happenings.

Friday Morning

Hi everyone we are back from Chile. I feel like I should have my seat belt buckled up after all that flying. We had a wonderful time and it was kind of hard saying good by but we did it. It was good to get home. 3 weeks is a long time. My dog sure is happy we got back so that is good. She didn't forget us anyway. She is a bit of a pest now as she follows me every wheres I go she is right on my heel. Wendy had to go to work this morning (sigh). I miss her already as we have been together every day for the last 3 weeks. It was fun. Oh well someone has to make some money so we can go again eh? Maybe I'll get some time tomorrow and tell you guys all about our trip. It was a beautiful wedding. Wendy is working on getting all the picture together. She averaged over 100 pictures a day so she has a few to go thru eh? Chile is beautiful and saw quite a bit of it. Would have liked to seen more but ran out of 2 things (Time and Money) ha ha. Have a great day and love you all.

Friday March 9,2007

Hi everyone. Just 3 more days and then we are flying home.(sigh) Not sure I ´m ready to go home just yet but guess I have not chioce. Well I must say we have had a lot of fun and this morning I went with Jorge and his dad to a market that was really different than any thing we have in Edmonton. Fresh fish of all kinds and every kind of meat you would want.We bought some of both for the party that we are going to have after the wedding inYumbel at Jorge´s grandpa´s cabin. I hear that there is going to be about 30 people there. It will be in the evening after the wedding. I think they have over a 100 people coming to the wedding. The place is beautiful and if the weather is good it is going to be outside right near the ocean and beautiful beach. Jorge´s Dad and Mom have been so nice to us. I´m going to miss being treated like someone real important. Well we have done lots of things and seen some real beautiful country. We have been white water rafting, horse back riding, seen lots of beautiful lakes and been to 2 different hot springs. I went down the water slide at the last one. Oh remind me to tell you about the roads to the Hot springs. We bowled again yesterday and I bought a new suite and tie that Jorge picked out. Well you know me and colors??????? Mandy and Wendy wanted me to get a blue tie but Jorge said no a yellow was better and then went on to prove it. haha. Well got to go to the spa and the to get a massage??? Never did that before either. haha Kristy I hope you found the papers you need. Mum thinks that she gave all of them to you before. Glad to hear that Tanya and all her family is getting better. Well Tuesday is fly- day. See you Wed. Love you all and miss you a whole bunch. Wish you were all here to see Chile but when we get back Mum has about 1000 pictures for you to go thru. Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhh. Jorge is putting together a video for tomorrow about him when he was a kid. Just between me and you he´s still a kid but don´t tell him I said that . Hahaha. Just watching them (Mandy and Jorge) they were made for each other. He sure fits right into our family. We have had so much fun with them. See you all soon. Love you all.

Wed. March 7.2007

Hi everyone. We are having a ball here in Chile. Having a bit of trouble with my Spanish but am learning some new words. We went travelling last Friday and got back home here in Concepcion. We went first to Jorge´s Grandpa´s cabin and stayed for one night. We had a BBQ there with his uncle Marco and his wife. Then we went south to a little village called Villarrica. We stayed there for 4 nights. We went to some hot springs and drove around to see the area..the weather was nice but rained one morning. Mum took lots of pictures. About 100 a day so you will have lots to see and it will be easier than me trying to write it all out. We went to another town called Pucon for another day. We got back here on Tuesday late in the afternoon. We had lunch at his uncle Marco´s home. The country is beautiful. Lots of big trees. Today Mandy and Mum got their hair done and Jorge got his cut. Everyone is getting ready here for the wedding on Saturday. Jorge´s family is so nice. They treat us like we´re someone special. We are staying at his grandpa´s house and his grandma is so sweet. He has a lovely family . We will meet more of them on Saturday at the wedding. Jorge and I went shopping while Mandy and Mum got their hair done and I bought a couple of mate cups and pipes. They have fed us so well I think I have gained a few pounds already. Last night his sisters Paulina and Carolina and his dad played for us. The girls play the mandolin and his dad plays the guitar. Only a few more days here and then we are headed home. (Sigh) It is going to be hard to leave but we have had a real good time. Love you all and will see you soon.
Dad

Monday, February 26, 2007

Hi everyone. Well it´s still hard to believe that we are here in Chile. We are fine and things are going real well. We went to see some boats at the Navy base andsome Seals and then went downtown here in Concepcion and had a complato ( big hot dog with all the trimings). Then we let for Pichilemu and met with Mandy and Jorge´s leaders. Oh on the way we stopped at Torroes winery. That was fun.( bought some wine) Then we went house hunting and they found a beautiful little cabin that they are going to rent. We went downtown and walked around and both Mum and I got sunburned. We only spent about and hour on the beach but that was all we need I guess. The sun seems to be much hotter here. The people at the base were so nice. We went out for dinner ad then went back to our cabin and then we left on Sunday morning for our 6 hour drive home. Last night we went for pizza and then walked around and went to the bank. Then Jorge took us on a mini tour of Concepcion. Joege Mom and dad and his sisters are so nice. We are staying with his grandpa and grandma right next door to his dad. They are such a sweet coiuple. Today Mandy and mumand Jorge´s mom are going downtown to do women things and Jorge and I are going to do some men things. Haha.

I am in Chile Now

Hi everyone. Can you believe it here I am in Chile. We arrived here this morning about 10.30am. We left yesterday afternoon and drove to Blackfalds and took Madison to the kennels then went to Kristy and Bob´s for supper and we stayed with them until 3:00am then they took us to Edmonton airport. When we went out to start the car at 3 am. guess what? The car wouldn´t start and we had to unload everything to Bob´s car then go. We had a good but tiring trip because it was so long. We left Edmonton at 6 am. on Tueday morning and got here on Wed. morning at 10:30 am. We didn´t sleep but we sure ate a lot. Mandy and Jorge picked us up at the airport and we came home to Jorge´s family. We met his Mum, Dad and 2 sisters and his grandpa and his grandma. Wonderful people. They made us feel so welcome. We were served a beautiful lunch about 1:00pm then we went downtown and saw some of the small stores and came back to his Dad´s home for more to eat. Will probably have an early night as both of us are a bit tired.

My Thursday

Wendy got home at 7 and went to bed and I got up. Crazy life eh? I called a friend (Nelsen Rust) who just had another stroke and I took him out for coffee. He was all excited about going for coffee. Guess he hasn't done much since his stroke. This is the second one for him but he seems to be doing okay. He is 3 years older than me. Then I came home and cleaned out my garage and shed of all the bottles and cans. Can you believe it I have about $60.00 worth of bottles and cans. My poor little Ranger is totally full. A lot of the bottles were from Mandy's wedding. Then I went over to the bowling ally and pre bowled for next week. Did pretty good. First game was 180, second was 185 and the last was 210. The boys well be proud of me I hope. Then I came home and watched a bit of CSI with Wendy before she went to work. Then I went and picked up our Meds. for the trip. The lady scared me and said it was $666.00 but added it only cost me $82.00. Good thing we have insurance that pays most of that. If I had to pay that we wouldn't be able to go on a trip for sure. Just shows how God supplies thing for us eh? Then I got a call that Ralph McQueen's Dad is in the hospital so I e-mailed all the guys in the men's group so they are all praying for him. Had some supper , played a bit on the Harmonica and then fell asleep on the couch for about 2 hours. Now I'm wide awake and I should be going to bed. (Sigh)

Wednesday Morning

Wow it has been about a week since I posted . How time flies even when you not having fun. Well I still haven't heard from the doctor yet about the test so maybe no news is good news. I am going to bowl this morning at 9am. Boy is it cold here -20 degrees. I just had to go out and put the garbage out as I missed him last week. We took Mandy and Jorge to the airport on Monday so it has been quiet and sad around here for the last couple of days. Mattie keeps wining at the bedroom door waiting for Jorge to come out. Mandy and Jorge were home last night and they were on MSN for about 35 minutes. We have a web cam so I could see them and talk to them as well. The connection was real good. It sure is cheaper than a phone call. Well I have lots of things that I have to do today so I had better get started. Maybe if you have time you can pray that the doctor will give me good news. I feel real good so that should be a good sign eh?? Got a few songs I should practice today as we are making a new CD soon. Have a great day. Here is a picture of the three of us and Mandy taken a while back. As you can see the boys are playing large harmonicas.

Wed. What a Day

To start off with I had to go to the hospital at 9:45 to do some prostate test. (Not fun) Then I came home and veged out for the rest of the day. Didn't really feel like doing to much. Then Mandy made dinner for us. She is really getting to be a good cook. Tonight she made chicken in a sauce that was just awesome and some rice with peppers and garlic. It was all too good. I ate too much. Then at 7pm. our men's group showed up. I have a men's group that's meets every Wed. evening. We started it back in 1992 and is still going. We have about 8 or 9 guys every week. What an awesome bunch of God loving men they are. The all love the Lord and their love for each other is just so neat. It has been fun just watching them grow over the years. Just hearing them talk about the people they meet and the people they tell about Jesus it just blows me away and the way they pray for each other many times brings tears to my eyes. Every time we meet it's such a blessing.
Wendy is working and won't be home until 7 am.(Sigh)Wish she didn't have to work but she just loves what she does so that's a good thing.
I didn't get to bowl today because of the hospital thing. (Sigh)Well I guess I have to think about Tanya's new challenge (Motion) how do you take a picture about motion????? Oh well sounds like fun eh? Have a great day all.

Monday

This morning we all went to breakfast with the Seinors at the A&W at Mayfield Common. Then I came home did a bit on the computer and then off to bowl. Wendy,Mandy and Jorge went to CosTco and I went to Ed's. Boweled better than usual. 182,200, 230 and 208.
Bob and Kristy are coming up tonight. Bob just called and wanted to know if I could build a toy box. I guess one of his friends is looking for toy box of some sort. Tomorrow I have to go to help a couple with their dryer and then on Thursday I have too go give a fellow and estimate on a ceiling and on Friday I have to go see a guy about some shelf's. Guess I'll be busy for a few day's eh?

Sunday, January 28, 2007

Sunday afternoon

Today started off being busy at the Church. I had and interview at 10 then service. After that I sat and talk with some friends and then it was home and make lunch. Last night we were at Ed and Betty Giesbrecht for a beautiful supper and we chatted until about 10:15 and came home. Betty made Salmon in a loaf with rice and mushrooms and it was really good. The loafs were really large so we got to bring some home. That was my lunch today. Then I practiced on the harmonica's for about 2 hours. Getting ready for a gig at The Lynwood Seniors Home. We have to play on the 9Th of Feb. with The Harmonika Rascals. Tomorrow it breakfast with the Seniors and then I go bowling at Ed's. Mandy and Jorge will be home tomorrow from Lethbridge. It has been really quiet around here with just Wendy and I and our little black friend Madison. She is pretty good company. Well it is getting late so I should go make something for supper. Have a great day.

Saturday Jan. 27, 2007

Where did the week go? My how time fly's weather your having fun or not. Kristy and Bob came up last night. Bob's Grandfather passed away so they came up last last night and stayed with us. They are going home this afternoon and then coming back on Tuesday. I think the funeral is on Wed. afternoon. It's a sad time for Bob.
Well can you believe it I went to the movies again last night. 2 movies in 2 days. That got to be a real record for me. I am not a movie person but I did enjoy both of them. We saw Deja-vue and A Night in the Museum. Wendy had to go back to work this morning. Wish she didn't have to work. We had fun for 4 days so that was good. Tonight we are going to some old friends for supper at 7pm. Kristy and Bob and I went to Happs for breakfast then to Moore's and Bob bought a suit. They are now headed for Spruce Grove and then back to Blackfalds.
I should try to take some pictures for the 20 questions that we are supposed to do on the Photo Challenge. Not sure I am going to be able to take a picture for each question but then again it is a challenge eh? It sure is quiet here with Mandy and Jorge gone and Wendy back at work. Just me and Maddie here and she don't talk just wines. Haha

Thursday

Well here it is Thursday and the last time I wrote was Last Friday. Must be getting old and lazy eh? Oh well things like that will happen I guess. I have been fairly busy. I bowled on Monday and then again on Wed. I have been bowling way over my head.Monday I had 170,199 and 202 and then on Wed. I bowled 171,199 and 203. My average now in the league is 182, not bad for and old fellow. Oh I just hurt my arm patting myself on the back eh?
Mandy and Jorge are probably in Blackfalls by now. Wendy and I just had supper and are going to a movie. I've seen more movies in the past 2 weeks that I have seen in the last 5 years. haha. Wendy wants me to go see another one that they saw the other night. Maybe tomorrow. Well I should go get ready to go to the movies with Wendy. At least we are doing things together eh? She is kind of cute you know and I think I'll keep her.Well I should go check the Blog Challenge and see who has put what on there.

January 19, 2007

Well today looks like another busy one for me. I have to get dressed in a few minutes in our new Shirts and vest and go play with The Harmonika Rascals in Sherwood park for some sienors. Then tomorrow we have to play at a funral in Stoney Plain from 1 to 2 pm. Got up early and went to Tim's for coffee at 6am. came home and called Tanya because I hadn't seen her on the blog or heard from her on the phone so thought that she might be sick. Guess she has just been real busy and tired. I know the feeling some times but I can go take a nap because I don't have 4 or 5 little one to keep me awake. But she is fine, just tired I guess. Anyway got to talk to the grandkids for a while too. They sure do brighten up Grandpa's day. Sure do love them little ones and the big ones too.Well guess I should get going or I'll be late and (I Hate To Be LATE). I would sooner be and hour earlier thatn to be a minute late. Don't ask my why but that's how it is. Well I'm gone .
Love you all bye 4 now.

Monday morning

Good morning everyone. Well I went to breakfast with the Seniors at A&W this morning at May field Common. They were all upset because Jorge didn't go. Everyone asked where he was. It is so neat to see how people care about our family. They all enjoy talking to Jorge about Chili and what him and Mandy will be doing there for the next little while.
Yesterday was a long day at Church. I got home about 2pm. Mandy made a Delicious dinner and we had Jay and his wife Karen over for dinner. It was great. Jay and Jorge played a game that Jay brought over on the TV. After that we just laid around and took it easy. Wendy had to work last night so she left at 5:30pm. I watched some football and Law and Order for a while and then went to bed.
I am going bowling at 11 this morning and then I have to go to St. Albert and pick up Hank and go to Dirks and exchange a couple of vest for The Rascals that are a bit too large for the guys.
I don't want to spend to much of my afternoon because Wendy is off for the next 4 days and I really enjoy spending time with her. Hope she feels the same way about it. Ha ha.
Well bye for now and have a great day.

Friday Morning

Jorge and I went to breakfast this morning at Happ's. He was really proud of himself because he ordered all by himself. (Bacon and eggs, sunny side up with white toast) His English is getting better all the time. The lady said (perfect).
Well I think I'll go bowling at 12:30 at the Mall. They have a buckshot game every Friday. It cost you $10.00 for 4 games. It is called Buckshot because the rules are different than regular bowling. You only have to get 9 pins with the first ball and they give you a strike. When you get 4 strikes in a row then you put your name on the buckshot list. At the end they pay for high game, high series and then everyone that got 4 strikes has to start bowling and the one that gets the most strikes wins the buckshot. It's a bit different but fun.
I have to go walk in the Mall. Sigh my walking partner is working . Sorry Wendy. Maybe Jorge and I will go over a little early and I can bowl a couple of games with him. We'll see. Want to hear something scary ? I am going to attempt to clean up some of my programs on this stupid computer.AAAaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh. Hope Tom is home latter I might just have to call him eh?
Well off we go with Camera in hand. You never know what you might see in the Mall eh?

Wednesday evening

Hi everyone. Guess it's about time I wrote something in this old blog eh? Today I did a bit of snow shoveling first thing and then walked to the Mall to bowl at 9am. Did pretty good at bowling. I bowled 180,222 and 162. Not bad for an old fellow eh? I met Wendy at the Mall and we walked for about 1/2 hour or so and then my leg started to hurt so I quit. Wendy walked a bit more and then we came home and I shoveled some more snow. It sure was cold out there. Wendy has been off for 4 days it has been fun having her around the house. We watched some CD's of Andy G and (napped a bit) but I think I saw most of it. I spent some time reading most of the blogs and that sure takes some time. Plus I was looking at all the pictures on Tanya Challenge site. Wow is there a lot of pictures on there. It is fun and I'm glad to see so many putting pictures on it.Good job guys. Wonder what Tanya will come up with next???Hope you all have a great evening. Bye for now. I'll be watching to see who's reading my blog.

January 5, 2007

Well not much happened today. Got up and read my bible and then Wendy and I went to the Mall and walked for a while. Came home and then I was feeling pretty good so I went to the bowling alley and bowled in The Buckshot that they have every Friday. I won the buckshot so that was fun and I made a little money. At the end (If) you get 4 strikes in a row in one of the 4 games. You bowl until you stop getting strikes. I didn't have to through too many. Only needed 5 in a row to win and guess what I did? They also pay for high game and high single game . There only was 11 of us there today. I have been looking at Tanya's monthly challenge and not sure I can find a picture for all those questions but it sounds like fun. Maybe I will try it. I did read up a bit on my camera today. So she has me thinking eh? Well that my story for today and I'm sticking to it.

Monday Afternoon/Evening

We had a great New Year's Eve. I played with The Kompanions at The Iron wood Estates. It was a lot of fun and the people really enjoyed it. One advantage of playing on New Years for older people is we were home by 11:00pm. I got home and Wendy and I watched a movie until 12:30 Then Mandy and Jorge came home and we had a bit of wine and heard a pizza calling at 2:00am. I think we finally called a night about 3:00am. Didn't do too much yesterday but did watch lot's of FOOTBALL and gave the old recliner a good workout. Bob and Kristy came for supper and that was pretty much our day. They had to leave right after supper because they are working people eh??
It is a New Year and things were going well for while. Then this morning Wendy wanted me to get her something out of our bathroom cabinet and guess who was perched in there. Ya you guessed it, it is Matilda. Hopefully she won't stay there too long. Then Wendy started taking down all the Christmas decorations and the tree. What a mess that was. I had a doctors appointment at 1:30pm. When I got back Wendy was just getting ready to leave so I just got out of my truck and got in her car and off we went to Wall marts. Couldn't believe the lines in there but if you want the stuff you wait eh? From there it was off to Save-on Foods and bought a few things. Then we drove to the Flag Shop and bought a New Canadian flag. Our is pretty fadded and ratty looking. Then we stopped at Pets Mart and bought dog food. After that we went to The Cheese Cake and met Mandy and Jorge for Supper. So I guess you could say we are back in the grove for 2007.
Oh ya here is a picture of The Kompanions playing at Ironwood Estates on New years Eve. The Ironwood booked us for 2008/2009 right after we finished playing.
I pray that you all will have a Happy and a Healthy 2007.

The End of The Year

Here it is 10 minutes after 3 and I should be getting ready to go play at The Ironwood Estates. I have to pick Hank up at 4:30 so I should be showering and getting ready. This has to be short. So guess what Wendy got yesterday? It sure makes my little Cannon 3.2 look like a midget. Hope she will enjoy it. I'm sure she will. She loves taking pictures and is pretty good at it so it should be lots of fun for her in the new year.
Well this year is almost over and it has been a good year. My health has been good and I seem to have everything that I need and some of what I want or thought I wanted anyway. I have had a great year of bowling and a fair year of music. I am hoping that this coming year we will be playing more. I really love playing the Harmonica with the guys. I hope that we get a chance to make a new CD's with Benny's new recorder but then again who would buy them. Oh well it was a great thought eh? I could send them to all my relatives but maybe they don't want them. Who like music for the 40's,50 and 60's??? Maybe we should start playing some new one's eh? Hey that's a good idea. Well If I don't get going I'll be late so I pray that everyone will have a GREAT NEW YEAR. I'll post a new picture of The Kompanions in our New outfit. when I get home . Bye for now and don't drink and drive.

Love you Floyd

Friday Morning

Well here it is the end of the week already. How time flies when your having fun eh? For me it flies even when I'm not having fun. LOL. At my age things seem to go much faster than they used too. Ha ha. Well I have a few things to do today so I should get after them but it is easier to just sit here on the old computer eh?
I have to make a few CD's and send them out in the next few days. My aunt in Florida and my brother in Conn. and my son in New York . Not sure they will like my music but then again they have probably never heard it before and who knows they might just like it. I only have 5 CD's so far. 2 with The Rascals and 2 with The Harmoniciares and one with the Kompanions. We make them at a friend of mine who has a small recording unit. One of these days we are going to go to a studio and record one.Well here it is 10:30 and I am still here . Got to go buy for today.

Wednesday Morning

We had a WONDERFUL CHRISTMAS . It was just great to have everyone home for Christmas. All went well except that our little grandson was sick all weekend. It was Jorge's first Christmas with our family. He sure fits into our crazy little family and we all love him. God has blessed us so much this year. We all ate too much and probably gained a few pounds. I know I did for sure. I sure miss Tom, Tanya and the kids and Bob and Kristy. I sat at the table all by myself this morning and had tea and toast. Just me and the dog . Jorge and Mandy were still sleeping and Mum was working. Boy was it quiet. I hope and pray that everyone had a great Christmas and now I have to get ready for The New Year. I play New Years Eve at the Ironwood Estates with The Kompanions so I should brush up on the songs we will be playing. I practiced a bit last night but like they say practice makes perfect. Not sure I have that much time but I'll be better anyway, right? I talked to my Sister (Betty) and my brother (Merlin and his wife) and then I called my favorite aunt (Wayna) who are all living in Florida. I was a bit worried about the tornadoes I heard about on the TV yesterday but everyone was fine. Well I'm off to bowl this morning and then I should go help a friend put his new front door in. That will probably take up most of my day and then I'll practice a bit . Have a great day.

Home for Christmas

Our whole family is home for Christmas. God is so good. thank you Lord for letting us all gather here for Christmas. This year we have our newest member to our family. Mandy's husband Jorge is with us. I have to thank the Lord for 3 awesome son-in laws. Jorge fits into our family so well. The Lord has blessed us in so many ways again this year. We have all 3 of our beautiful daughters here with their husbands and our 4 beautiful grand kids. We have so much to thank God for. The safe travel getting here and we are all in good health (Sigh) except for little Kellen who is not feeling the greatest. He has a bad cold. Wendy sister Cynthia and her 4 children just came over so except for John our whole family is here now. We are going to celebrate our Christmas tomorrow instead of Monday because Tom and Tanya go to Toms Dad's on Christmas this year. Bob and Kristy are going to Bob's mom and dad's tomorrow evening in Spruce Groove. The poor Christmas tree is loaded down with presents again this year. It will take us a long time to open all the gifts tomorrow for sure. The kids and some of the bigger kids can't wait for tomorrow to come. I have busy day coming as I have a 22 lb. turkey to stuff and get ready for noon tomorrow with all the trimmings. Mashed potatoes, turnips, Sweet potatoes and corn and cranberry sauce and off course gravy. Plus Wendy has some great deserts after dinner. She made some butter tarts all kinds of squares, cookies, fruit cake and some (Cherry Cheese Pie's ) My favorite. She spoils me but I love her for it. Oh and there is chocolates every where you look. Ha ha. We'll probably all gain a few pounds for sure. I hope and pray that everyone who reads this blog will have a Very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. May God Bless you and your family.

Thursday evening.

I got a knock on my door at 10:00 this morning and it was The Future Shop Del. truck with our new Dryer. Our old one died just the other day. Mum told me yesterday that she bought me a new dryer for Christmas. Just what I always wanted. Ha ha.Well we needed it with everyone coming for Christmas. So I got out the tools and went and bought some pipe and elbows(Metal ) because the guy said that we shouldn't use the plastic flex pipe because the new dryer are much hotter that the old ones. However it will probably take a few days as I will have to run a whole new pipe out and it is above the electric panel. LOL. Well the first thing was that the cord was about 4 inches shorter that the old one and it wouldn't reach so I went to the store and measured a few others and they are all the same size. Seems they make them shorter now. (Why) Who knows but they do. So I had to run a new box in from the electric panel. Then I find out that I will have a bit more problems cutting thru a wall and some floor joist to get that stupid metal pipe to fit up in to the top of the electric panel to the dryer vent. I hope I can get it done tomorrow before everyone gets here but not sure. I'll try. I find that I get a bit grumpy when things don't fit or work just right. I must be getting old eh?? Sounds like a good excuse to me. Well so much for my day today.

Tuesday Afternoon

I am late posting again, so whats new eh? Well we have had a busy week. Wendy and I went to Clareshome on Friday morning to see Clayton, Amanda and little Brianna. Troy, Hearther and little Emma came too. Troy, Clayton and I put up a couple of small walls and some drywall. They are going to put in a sink for Amanda for washing hair. Then on Saturday afternoon Clayton, Amanda, Wendy and I went to Lethbridge and had lunch with Tom, Tanya and the kids.It was really good to see them even if it was only for a little while. Then it was ON The ROAD Again. Seems like we have been doing that a lot lately. We get to spend time together and sometimes we even get to take(between sleeps) first hers then mine. Ha ha. She is kinda cute when she is asleep. Wendy has the same problem with our car as I have with our TV. Turn them on and we go to sleep. Went and talked to a Lady about doing some work in her house but not sure she wants someone part time. I think she wants someone to just go in and do it quick and I can't do that. We'll see. I think 3 or 4 weeks and I could have it pretty well done. I did a few things that had to be done and now it's time to just go watch the hockey game.

Sunday Afternoon

It is about 5:17pm. and soon I will be going back to the church again today to serve after the production tonight. Tonight is the last night and it will probably be a late one. Lots of people have come to the musical and hopefully many have come to know the LORD because of it. Christmas is only 14 days away. I am praying that everyone I know will have a great Christmas and that God will touch each one of their hearts in a very special way. Many time we seem to get so caught up in the (Christmas thing) that we forget what Christmas is and why we celebrate it. Many people think of Christmas as Santa and presents and never realize that it is Jesus Christ they should be celebrating. We as Christians should be watching for the oppertunity to tell those that don't know. God has been so good to us we shouldn't forget telling others about Him, especialy this time of year.
Wendy decorated our tree and it is beautifull. Our home looks so good at Christmas with all the decorations that she puts out. Thanks sweetie.

Saturday, December 02, 2006
